What is Match Trader?
Match Trader is a trading platform built by Match Trade Technologies that runs entirely in your web browser. It gives you charting, order placement, position management and account history without installing anything, and it is one of the two platforms available on a City Traders Imperium account.
Do I need to download anything to trade on Match Trader?
No. Match Trader loads in your browser, so there is nothing to install, no updates to apply and no admin rights needed on your machine. Log in with the credentials from your CTI dashboard and the platform is ready.
Is Match Trader available in the USA?
Yes. Match Trader is available to traders worldwide, including clients in the USA. This is the platform to choose if you are based in the USA, because MT5 accounts are not offered there.
What is the difference between Match Trader and MetaTrader 5?
Match Trader runs in the browser with TradingView charting built in, and it is available worldwide including the USA. MetaTrader 5 is a desktop platform that also has web and mobile versions, and it supports Expert Advisors and custom indicators. If you want automation choose MetaTrader 5. If you want to log in and trade from any machine without installing software, choose Match Trader.
Can I use Expert Advisors on Match Trader?
No. Expert Advisors are written for the MetaTrader platform, so they do not run on Match Trader. If your strategy depends on an EA, or on our free MT5 Trade Manager, pick MetaTrader 5 instead.
Which browsers and operating systems does it work on?
Any current browser works, including Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox. Because it only needs a browser, the platform runs the same on Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS, which makes it useful on a machine where you cannot install software.
What can I trade on Match Trader with CTI?
The full instrument list, along with contract sizes, spreads and trading hours, is published on our symbols page. Specifications change from time to time, so take the current figures from the platform before you size a position.
Where do I find my Match Trader login details?
Your platform login details are issued when your account is created and are available in your CTI dashboard. If you cannot locate them, or a login is not working, contact support and the team will sort it out.
Can I try Match Trader before paying anything?
Yes. The free trial gives you platform access without a card, so you can get comfortable with Match Trader and with the rules before committing to a challenge.
Does using Match Trader change my programme rules?
No. Your profit target, drawdown limits and payout terms are set by the programme you buy, not by the platform you trade it on. What does affect your balance is swap on positions held overnight, and our free swap calculator works that out before you commit to a long hold.
