Quick Look at CTI’s Account Metrix:

  • Real-time rule-breach prevention tracks drawdown limits, profit targets, and risk metrics across all CTI funding programs.
  • Different drawdown rules per program.
    • 2-Step uses a 5% daily drawdown and 10% static drawdown.
    • 1-Step uses a 5% trailing drawdown from peak.
    • Instant Funding uses a 6% static drawdown total.
  • Calendar P/L. P/L per Day of the Week shows when you trade best. Stop trading on weak days and reduce size after losing streaks.

How Account Metrix Helps CTI Funded Traders

What separates us from so many other prop trading firms is that we don’t just impose rules, hoping you figure everything out. The Account Metrix is a perfect example of our pro-trader approach.

It gives you granular visibility into every metric that determines your success or failure. Track your distance from drawdown limits in real-time. Identify performance patterns across days of the week. Analyse your consistency scores, monitor profit targets. All from a single dashboard.

Discipline isn’t about willpower but about having the right data at the right time to make informed decisions. Think about it. If you know where you stand against your daily loss limit or absolute drawdown threshold, it becomes much easier to adjust your position sizing, take profits, or step away before your losses breach the rules.

This matters even more given our multiple funding paths. Whether you’re going through the 2-Step Challenge, 1-Step Challenge, or trading live capital via Instant Funding, the Metrix system adapts to show you the metrics that matter for your specific program.

How to Access Your Account Metrix

Getting to your Account Metrix takes seconds:

Step 1: Log into your CTI Dashboard.

Step 2: Navigate to the “Accounts” tab in the left-side menu.

Step 3: Click the blue arrow icon next to the “Net Profit $” value for the account you want to analyze. This opens the Analytics Overview. Your central hub for all performance and compliance data.

Understanding the Five Core Data Sections

The Account Metrix organizes your trading data into five strategic sections:

cti’s account metrix dashboard

#1 Rules Metrics

Rules Metrics is your compliance monitor. This section tracks whether you follow the rules of our challenge or a funded account. It provides info on your current drawdown levels, daily loss status, and profit target progress. Think of it as your early warning system. If you’re approaching a limit, you’ll see it here first.

#2 Growth Performance

Growth Performance helps visualize your capital trajectory.

With the Equity Curve and Monthly P/L breakdowns, you can quickly see if your growth is steady or volatile.

Notice smooth upward curves?

It proves a discipline risk management. The curves are jagged and erratic? It likely signals potential problems – even if you’re currently profitable.

#3 Strategy Performance

Strategy Performance dives into your trading mechanics. Metrics like Win Ratio, Average Trade Duration, Maximum Consecutive Wins and Losses, and Maximum Recovery Time reveal your trading psychology.

High win ratio but low overall profitability? You might be cutting winners too early. Long recovery times after drawdowns? You’re not adapting quickly enough to changing conditions.

#4 Other Statistics

Other Statistics provides contextual insights, including P/L per Day of the Week. This seemingly simple metric can be incredibly revealing.

Many traders discover they consistently underperform on Fridays due to end-of-week fatigue or overperform on Wednesdays when volatility is typically higher. Armed with this knowledge, you can optimize your trading calendar.

#5 Trade History

Trade History functions as an integrated Trading Journal where you can add comments, group trades by tags, and review individual position details. One, it helps you keep track of your trades. Two, it helps you recognize patterns.

Tag all your news-event trades, all your counter-trend positions, all your early-morning scalps. Over time, you’ll see which setups actually work for your style and which ones drain your capital.

Comparing CTI’s Drawdowns

We offer traders three funding paths – a classic 2-Step Challenge, a faster 1-Step Challenge, and Instant Funding. Each uses different drawdown mechanics, and understanding those is key to survival.

2-Step Challenge: Balance-Based Limits

The 2-Step Challenge uses fixed limits measured against your closed balance. Only closed trades count toward drawdown calculations.

  • Profit Targets: 10% in Phase 1, 5% in Phase 2.
  • Daily Loss Limit: 5% from start-of-day balance.
  • Total Loss Limit: 10% absolute from initial balance.
  • Drawdown Type: Balance-based (open trades don’t count).

This structure offers a clear floor and ceiling. On a $100,000 account, your absolute maximum loss is $10,000. You can lose no more than $5,000 in any single trading day (based on where your balance stood at the start of the day).

The balance-based calculation means you can hold a drawdown in open positions without immediate breach risk. The moment you close those positions, though, the losses hit your balance.

💡 Pro Tip: The 5% daily limit acts as a circuit breaker against revenge trading. If you lose $2,500–$3,000 in a session on a $100k account, stop trading for the day. You’re at 2.5–3% loss, which gives you buffer room for tomorrow while preventing emotional decision-making from pushing you to the 5% limit.

1-Step Challenge: Trailing Drawdown

The 1-Step Challenge offers a faster route with a single 8% profit target, but uses trailing drawdown mechanics that follow your highest achieved profit level.

  • Profit Target: 8%.
  • Daily Loss Limit: None.
  • Total Loss Limit: 5% from the highest achieved profit.
  • Drawdown Type: Trailing drawdown.

The trailing drawdown means your loss limit moves up as you profit. Grow a $100,000 account to $105,000? Your maximum drawdown floor rises to $99,750 (5% below $105,000). This protects your gains but requires constant awareness of your high-water mark. You can’t simply track a static dollar amount. You must monitor your peak balance throughout the challenge.

💡 Pro Tip: Use the Equity Curve in Growth Performance to visualise your trailing drawdown floor in real-time. When you hit new profit highs, immediately recalculate your maximum allowable loss and adjust position sizing. As your floor rises, you may need to reduce leverage to maintain the same risk percentage.

Instant Funding: Static Drawdown

Instant Funding is for traders who feel confident enough to skip evaluation. Forget about challenges. You go straight into a live account with a 6% static drawdown from the initial balance.

  • Profit Targets: Only for scaling purposes (not required to maintain account).
  • Daily Loss Limit: None.
  • Total Loss Limit: 6% static from initial balance.
  • Drawdown Type: Static (fixed floor).

This program prioritises account preservation over rapid profit targets. On a $100,000 account, you cannot drop below $94,000 under any circumstances. The lack of daily limits gives you flexibility for intraday volatility, but the tighter 6% total limit demands conservative position sizing from day one.

💡 Pro Tip: With Instant Funding, your primary goal is survival and consistency. Use the Maximum Consecutive Losses metric in Strategy Performance to identify your worst streaks. If you’ve historically experienced 5–7 consecutive losses, make sure your position sizing keeps total damage from any such streak well under 6%.

Translating Metrix Data into Risk Control

Raw data is worthless without application. Here’s how to use Account Metrix insights to prevent rule breaches:

Mitigating Maximum Drawdown

Your Rules Metrics section displays your current drawdown level as both a percentage and a dollar amount. But don’t trade right up to the limit. Build in a safety buffer of 10–15% under your maximum allowed loss.

Why the buffer?

Commissions, swap fees, and slippage on stop-losses can push you over the edge in volatile markets. On a $100,000 account with a 10% absolute limit, treat $9,000 in losses as your real maximum, not $10,000.

Quick Fix: Set a personal “stop-out” threshold in your trading plan, for example, 8.5% loss on a 10% max drawdown account. Log this threshold in the Trade History journal section. When you hit it, close all positions and take a mandatory 48-hour break to reset psychologically.

Controlling Intraday Risk (2-Step Only)

The 2-Step Challenge imposes a 5% daily loss limit based on your start-of-day balance. It’s your most immediate risk factor to keep in mind. The reason? Since it resets daily, it means you can breach it in a single volatile trading session.

To manage this, divide your daily limit into thirds. For example, let’s say you have a $100,000 account with a daily limit of $5,000. In that case, your three stop-points are:

  • $1,500 loss (30%): Pause, review open positions, tighten stops.
  • $2,500 loss (50%): Close all trades, step away for 1 hour minimum.
  • $3,500 loss (70%): Hard stop for the day; no new positions under any circumstances.

Track these thresholds using the Rules Metrics section throughout your session. The Metrix updates in real-time, so you’ll always know where you stand.

Most traders blow up not because they lack skill, but because their emotions take control at exactly the wrong moment. Developing strong trading psychology skills is essential for prop trading success.

Optimizing Your Trading Schedule with Performance Patterns

The Other Statistics section reveals your P/L per Day of the Week. Most traders discover significant performance variations they never consciously noticed.

One of the most common patterns we notice is that many traders underperform on Mondays due to weekend news gaps and positioning uncertainty. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are usually when weekly trends establish, while Fridays usually mean deteriorating results from position squaring and reduced volume.

What to do about it:

After 30 days of tracked data, analyze your day-of-week performance. If you’re consistently losing on Mondays, consider trading smaller size or skipping Mondays entirely until you identify the root cause. Trade when you have an edge. Not every day.

Similarly, use Maximum Consecutive Losses from Strategy Performance to identify your drawdown patterns. If you historically experience 4–6 consecutive losses before recovery, reduce position sizing after 2–3 losers to preserve capital through the inevitable rough patch.

Building Consistency Through Trade Journaling

The Trade History section functions as a full trading journal with commenting and tagging capabilities. This is where good traders become great traders.

So, how to do it the right way?

  • Tag every trade by setup type – breakout, reversal, continuation, scalp, swing.
  • Comment on context: Was this a high-conviction setup or FOMO? Were you tired, distracted, or focused?
  • Every Sunday, filter trades by tags and analyze which setups are profitable and which are capital drains.

Over time, you’ll build a statistical profile of your edge. You might discover you’re profitable 68% of the time on continuation trades during trending markets but only 42% on reversals. Armed with this insight, you can specialize in what works and eliminate what doesn’t.

You can (and should) also use the journal to track emotional state. Noting things like frustration after losses and trading to ‘get back’ losses might reveal revenge trading patterns that pure P/L data won’t show. Emotional awareness is the first step to behavioral change.

How to Use Your Account Metrix for Strategic Scaling

Passing a challenge is the starting line, not the finish. We allow scaling up to $4 million, but progression requires demonstrated consistency and adherence to risk parameters.

The Account Metrix system positions you for scaling by tracking what funders want to see. Smooth equity curves showing steady growth without erratic spikes. Low maximum drawdown ratios. Target 2–3% drawdowns on paths to 10% profit targets. Evidence of strategic adaptability when you adjust to poor performance periods.

When requesting scaling or negotiating better profit splits, you’re not just saying “I’m a good trader.” You’re presenting Metrix data. Consistent positive months, controlled drawdowns, strategic adjustments. Data beats claims every time.

Common Pitfalls and How Metrix Helps You Avoid Them

Even skilled traders breach rules through specific, recurring mistakes.  The Account Metrix helps you catch these before they become fatal.

Overtrading after initial success

You hit 6% profit in Phase 1 of the 2-Step Challenge. You’re feeling confident. So you increase trade frequency and size, exposing yourself to a drawdown that erases those gains.

Metrix Solution: Monitor trade frequency in the Trade History section. Suddenly taking 15 trades per day when your average was 4–6? You’re overtrading. The data warns you before the results show up in your balance.

Revenge trading after losses

A losing trade triggers emotional decision-making. You immediately enter a new position to “recover” losses – often with a larger size and looser risk parameters.

Metrix Solution:

The Maximum Consecutive Losses metric reveals your typical losing streaks. If you historically experience 3–4 consecutive losses, create a rule: after 2 consecutive ones, take a mandatory 30-minute break. Log this break in the Trade History journal to build the habit.

How Metrix Gives You the Psychological Edge

Beyond the tactical advantages, Account Metrix provides a crucial psychological benefit: you trade with confidence because you trade with certainty.

There’s no ambiguity about where you stand. No mental calculations trying to remember if today’s loss includes that swap charge. No anxiety, wondering if you’re close to a breach.

The data is clear, real-time, and actionable.

This clarity compounds over time. When you know exactly where your drawdown floor is, you can place stops appropriately without second-guessing. When you understand your historical win rate on specific setups, you execute with conviction rather than doubt. When you’ve documented your recovery patterns in the journal, you can weather losing streaks without panic.

Confidence isn’t arrogance. It’s preparation meeting opportunity. The Account Metrix system is your preparation.
