The Early Years: A Journey of Trial and Error

Legima’s path to becoming a successful trader was anything but smooth. He began his journey over a decade ago, in 2009, during his studies in Banking and Finance at the University of Buea in Cameroon. His initial exposure to the Foreign Exchange Market came through a finance course, where a professor’s story about students funding their education through trading planted the seed of interest in his mind.

However, like many aspiring traders, Legima’s early years were filled with challenges. With no formal education in trading and relying solely on online videos and self-study, he spent six to seven years in a cycle of trial and error. These years were marked by failures, financial losses, and encounters with numerous scammers who sold ineffective courses and false promises.

Turning Point: Finding Structure and Purpose

Despite the setbacks, Legima’s passion for trading never waned. After completing his university education, he ventured into business consulting, working with prominent firms like Accenture. However, the corporate world left him feeling confined and craving freedom. Trading, in contrast, represented the ultimate freedom—the ability to control his own destiny.

In 2017, while pursuing an MBA in Strategic Management at the University of the West of Scotland in London, Legima decided to formalize his trading education. This decision marked a significant turning point in his journey. He invested in structured courses, attended seminars, and sought out genuine mentors who could guide him. Although the journey was still challenging, with costly courses that didn’t always yield immediate results, Legima began to see improvements in his trading.

Achieving Profitability: The Role of Psychology

By 2017-2018, Legima had started to turn a corner in his trading career. He developed a profitable trading strategy and began making consistent gains. However, he quickly learned that technical skills alone were not enough; psychology played a crucial role in trading success. In 2021, despite his technical prowess, personal challenges led to a psychological breakdown, resulting in significant losses, including some of his prop firm accounts. It was a harsh reminder that maintaining a stable mindset is just as important as having a solid trading strategy.

Building a Legacy: Wave Rider FX Academy

With his trading on solid ground, Legima turned his attention to helping others. In 2020, he founded Wave Rider FX Academy, a trading mentorship platform aimed at educating aspiring traders, particularly in Cameroon. He recognized that many people in his home country viewed trading as a get-rich-quick scheme and sought to change this mindset through proper education.

Legima’s academy offers a structured, three-month course that equips students with the knowledge and skills to pass prop firm challenges and manage funds professionally. His approach is practical and experience-based, aiming to reduce the learning curve that he himself had struggled with for years. To date, he has trained over 40 analysts, many of whom have gone on to manage significant funds and change their lives for the better.

His journey from a struggling novice to a successful trader and educator is a powerful reminder that with the right mindset and dedication, anyone can achieve their trading goals.
